T-Shirt Tales Blog Series

The sun rises on the first day of school, and the house is buzzing with nervous energy. Tommy’s backpack is packed, his lunch is ready, but his hands are a little shaky as he gets dressed. He and his mom both slip on their matching “First Day Strong” shirts—a family tradition that started last year.
At the school gate, Tommy hesitates. His mom kneels beside him, squeezing his hand. “Your shirt is like a hug from me all day long,” she whispers. Tommy looks down at the bold letters across his chest, then up at his mom’s matching grin. He takes a deep breath, stands a little taller, and walks into the classroom with new confidence.
Throughout the day, whenever he feels those butterflies, Tommy touches his shirt and remembers his mom’s words. After school, he comes running out, beaming. “I was brave, Mom!” They celebrate with ice cream, both still proudly wearing their “First Day Strong” tees—a symbol of courage, connection, and the start of a new adventure.
